I'm finally back to Blithewold after 18 years in Virginia and I'm thoroughly enjoying meeting new staff and volunteers in the garden. But I will forever miss Mary Philbrick and Pat Schryver. They made my life so much richer while I lived and gardened here in the 1980's.

Welcome back, Peggy! -kris

Kris my dear, you are selling yourself short. This is a lovely euloblogy about a wonderful woman. I think Mary is very proud of you now and that is just as it should. Thank you for sharing this tribute about Mary. I have never met her but I fully understand that she will be deeply missed, very much so. But she will be with you in spirit at Blithewold, laughing and darting about the garden and the third floor archives!

What a wonderful tribute, Kris... I get a real sense of a wonderful, warm, lovely person as you write about her, so I think you did just fine without any rhyme. And I am very sorry for your loss.

Now that is a vegetable garden! Kris, this is a lovely tribute to your friend. What a great picture of her smiling and she is looking over your shoulder as you write so eloquently as always. No one gets out alive!
