You're so right about Knock Out. It's definitely the "real deal" in sustainability, but to me it lacks the essence of what I envision a rose to be. We grow other roses that are just as sustainable as Knock Outs such as 'Super Hero", 'Yellow Brick Road' 'and 'Yellow Submarine', to name a few.

Angie, Thank you! I'm adding those to our list right now! -kris

Wonderful to hear you and Ken Druse banter back and forth. Two of my favorite people.

Agree about 'Knockout's. Kinda like impatiens, dependable, low maintenance, going on forever and lacking in personality. Booooooring .

Give me 'Hot Cocoa' any day or sublime 'Abraham Darby'. Or if needing a climber, 'Sombreil' and let me drown in its perfume.

Ooo! I don't know 'Sombreil' - thanks, Ginny! The one thing lacking from pretty little 'Viridiflora' is scent... I did read once about a green rose used in the perfume industry but this must not be the one. -kris

Kris, love the viridiflora...can I beg a cutting? 'Knockouts' are for clients who want color but no care. And, weird is my kind of beautifu tool, especially when it comes to plant selections.

Kathy, Of course you can have a cutting! And speaking of weird, we've been cutting your Boltonia 'Nallie's Lime Dot' for house arrangements ever since it came into bloom-ish. (Now I'll have to do a post on that one to explain what I mean by "ish".) -kris
