We all should brake more often to notice what is around us, whether it is world-renowned violinist in a subway stop or a simple rose (if roses can be simple) in a garden. Great post.

Thanks, Carol - I brake for bloom day. See you tomorrow! -kris

I brake for lots of things... sometimes interesting trees, sometimes carpets of daffodils in an old farmyard, sometimes deer by the side of the road. Gardens almost always make me brake, and trash day... well, trash day is very bad for me. I brake lots during trash day, especially if I see real wood... lol.

If I had your knack for finding treasures, I'd brake all over trash day too! -kris

It's funny you should mention the Joshua Bell on the D.C. Metro article--I was up late reading it last night and watching the video. I was robbed sleep by memories of me walking by countless performers in Boston on the MBTA and the horrific question of did I ever have a Joshua Bell moment and missed it?

I think as gardeners, though, we shouldn't worry too much about this sort of thing. To enjoy a pursuit that requires such fastidious patience and tolerance of failure requires a more sensitive soul.

Nicely put, Susan. Thank you. -kris
